Introduction to Vacuload abrasive recovery

BlastOne’s Master Technician, Kerry Cooper, introduces Vacuload abrasive recovery

Hello and welcome to Blastone’s tutorial in relation to this particular piece of Equipment, Vacuload Series 4!

What’s a Vacuload Series 4 in basic terms? It’s a huge vacuum cleaner. The difference between this vacuum cleaner you use at home and this one, here, is it does two or three specific jobs.

It’s run by air, so, all its operation is dependent on the volume of air that we put in there. So, in this case, this particular machine has two Venturis at the rear of it which operate on 350 CFM per unit.

So, each of these stacks, you still see protruding from the back of the machine require 350 CFM. So, collectively at once, 750, 700 CFM of air to run this machine.

Quite a significant amount of air. Why so much air? Primarily, because we want the induction side of it to have significant pool and the capacity remove abrasives through that vacuum hose.

So, let’s have a look at the size of the hose here. It’s six-inch hose. So, quite a significant hole. So, that is representative of what size the ductus system or the vacuum system on the rear of this unit requires.

So, for what it pulls in it has to go through this massive tank, pick up the fines, or whatever you’re vacuuming up.

Being abrasive fines spent grit whatever through this particular vessel and it’s drawn in by these two massive sections that you can see standing upright at the rear. So, it’s pulled through the whole system by these here. So, on the front here, we’ve got an indication of what this control panel is.

So, we’ve got open and close by a switch then we’ve got vacuum operating pressure differentiation.
