Checking Your Blast Pressure

HOW TO CHECK FOR PRODUCTIVITY

A lower of your working pressure can equal a huge drop in productivity.

HOW TO PRESSURE TEST YOUR BLAST HOSE

While the abrasive flow is open, use a Pressure Gauge Kit and simply follow the three steps below:
Place the needle onto the nipple at the foundation of the gauge. Place the needle into the blast hose at a slow speed. Keep it a few inches back from the nozzle. At a slight angle, direct the needle toward the nozzle.

Insert slowly until you get a constant reading. You want to get a reading of 100psi. Before removing the needle, record the reading you received. Carefully pack it up for the next use.

CHECK YOUR BLASTING SYSTEM WITH YOUR PRESSURE TEST KIT

To find out where your pressure losses are exactly, check your system with a pressure test kit. You will be shocked to see how the pressure drops when you test the pressure on both ends of a hose.

Having two pressure test kits is very beneficial, as you can test the air that is both coming and going towards and leaving your blast pot. This way, you’ll realize if there is an equipment failure happening.

Keep note that the needle should be pointing towards the direction of air flow when inside of the hose.
