So, the outer lens also have is a protective film on it. So, what I suggest to do is, there’s locators and likes to hold that lens in. It comes out relatively easily like so. There is this triple-A lenses. So, remove all of them.
So, how do I do this? I’ve replaced the inner lens and having rubbed. Look. some guys will take the protective film off. What I suggest to do is start the protective film and then place it in the cradle or the lugs as required.
Now, by just starting it, what you’re reducing, the opportunity to do is scratch it so that it impedes your vision. So, by just removing some of that outer protective layer, it enables you to put it into place.
Now, it’s not difficult to ascertain how it goes because you see it’s got the lug cutouts there. So, of course they marry with the lugs that you’re trying to put in. So, you see, if I turn it around the other way, I can’t get it. Turn around that way, look at that, there are the locators. Slide them in like so.
Now, because I’ve got gritty hands from blasting, taking them out of the gloves, look at that it’s gone in the locator. No problem at all!
So, all I do need to do now is, hold that behind the lug. Run my finger around the outer edge that I’m not trying to look through. Hold it in place and remove the outer film
like so.
So, by holding it on the outer perimeter, I haven’t scratched it. Now, you can do it the other way. You can pull the film off and then place it in there. But just be careful that you keep your hands on the outer perimeter of the lens so that you’re not impeding your vision. So, you see that fits on like so.
So, if say for example, I wanted to utilize what we call strip away lenses. They have a tear away tag that makes it easy for when you’ve got the blast helmet on. To reach up, grab this tag and pool that lens off. So, that one strips away from the additional one behind. You can stack them up 5-10 deep if you wish.
So, these particular ones they go on the outside. So, we start stacking them up like so and again like I said, there’s your locators and that will indicate to you which way they go around. If they don’t fit in the locators, you rather got them around the wrong way or they’re the wrong ones.
So, if you set these up and rack them up as many as you want, put the outer lens in behind them to hold them in place then you’ve got your inner lens. So, you’ve got 1, 2, 3 units that’ll keep any debris off your face.
So, what’s the maintenance with this thing. It’s just a helmet isn’t it? Ultimately, what you’ll do overnight is, you’ll wipe all this down nice and clean don’t rub that with a piece of cloth. If it’s still in good repair, just blow it off with the air. A small amount of air is more than adequate blow all this down.
